From the Book...

We often promoted an event with some type of publicity. Usually it would be a local television show, or visit to a newspaper office, etc. One day we were waiting to go on a news show. A quick rehearsal showed Zippy where he was to work and with whom. Most shows were impromptu and it was up to the news anchorman to work with Zippy to create something fun. Zippy loved this type of show and no two shows were alike.

As we were waiting to go on, Zippy disappeared. Where in a small studio could a chimp go? I pushed against the heavy floor-to ceiling velveteen curtain and found there was no solid wall behind it. I searched for an opening and I discovered a cooking show in progress live on the other side of the curtain.

Now picture this...the cooking star is on live television, when suddenly a chimpanzee, dressed as a child jumps up on a stool next to her, wearing roller skates, picks up a fork and starts sampling and stirring the food she is cooking...

...and this gutsy woman, during her cooking show, never meeting the chimp before, said, "hello there, I guess your name is Zip" and played right to Zippy. What a marvelous impromtu show she did!

The book also relays wonderful times with such guests as Howdy Doody, Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Captain Kangaroo, Bozo the Clown, Merv Griffen, Phil Silvers, Captain Safari, Gary Moore, Paul Winchell, Dave Letterman, Johnny Carson, Jack Paar, Steve Allen and many more!

Zippy appeared on such shows as The Gary Moore Show, Howdy Doody, The Ed Sullivan Show, Super Circus, The Price Is Right, I've Got a Secret, and more! Zippy also worked with Tarzan as Cheta and made more commercials than any comparable headliner. His Xerox commercial won the coveted "Cleo Award". Personal appearances were in the thousands. He roller skated like a pro, rode his bike all over the country and made himself one of the most lovable chimps in history.

The book tells it all...a book you will never regret having purchased and read, it's harder to put down than that second potato chip! "Zippy The TV Chimp"...order your copy TODAY!
